About the Author

Hi, I'm Ashten.

After my son Jacob was born I started making up stories and songs for him. Then Eleanor came along and she got in on it too. My husband Kyle kept telling me I should write a children's book but I didn't have the right story yet.

Then one day, after registering Jacob for kindergarten and Eleanor for preschool, it hit me. These kids were about to do something really brave. And just like that, The Very Brave Day was born.

I started Circle Time Stories for Jacob and Eleanor. And somewhere along the way, it became for every kid who needed to see a little of themselves in a story.

I hope when you read my books with your kids, you find a little piece of yourselves in the pages. Or maybe you find somewhere that feels both magical and like home at the same time.

My family and I live in Ventura, California in a cute neighborhood. In addition to writing children’s books you can catch me at the thrift store, a coffee shop, a pool, or community momming with my friends.
